Tips for Adding Dimension

Tips for Adding Dimension

So you've put together a great outfit but still feel like it's not reaching it's full potential.. We want outstanding not just standard!

So let's debrief on what the key factor on making this change is - DIMENSION

Dimension can be added in different ways:

  • Texture - When you're feeling like your outfit seems 'flat' it's usually because all your garments are blending into one. A variety of texture helps pieces noticeable! When there's lack of colour, it has to be made up with texture.
  • Colour blocking - If you're not a monochromatic madam, then colour blocking is a very efficient way of adding dimension to your look. It's simple and effective, just be careful to not overdo it and become a colourful mess!
  • Accessories - Jewellery, hats, scarves & bags are always worth investing in as they can so easily elevate an outfit and add valuable dimension. They can mix and match with every piece you have in your wardrobe both night & day!
  • Layering - The lead contributing factor in adding dimension is layering. You could have the most simple of pieces, but when layered they become an art form of their own!
  • Mix fabrics - This is closely related to texture but when mixing fabrics think a cashmere cardigan with a fur coat thrown on top and a wool scarf. All 3 pieces could be in the same colour way but none would be lost among the other!
